Mini Hydro at "Thousand Rice Fields" in Shinshiro, Aichi

Aichi prefecture set up a mini-hydro generator at the Yotsuya Senmaida in Shinshiro city.
Senmaida literally is "thousand rice fields" on a steep slope.

This is the first hydro station which utilizes agricultural water in the prefecture.

The average water flow is 10 liters per second, which generates 200 W electricity.
The generator has 1 kW potential at maximum.

At the moment the electricity generated is used for toilet lighting and a septic tank.
