METI to Assure Grid Connection of "Medium Size" Solar in Hokkaido

Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan (METI) modified on 12th the ministerial ordinance on grid connection of solar facilities in Hokkaido under the Feed-in-Tariff scheme.

The new ordinance is to assure "medium size" solar facilities, which are of 500 kW to less than 2,000 kW scale, to have the right to connect with the grid of Hokkaido Electric Power.

Feed-in-Tariff started in Japan in June 2012.

Despite of a sudden boom of solar facilities after the commencement, Hokkaido Electric Power announced in April 2013 that the company would be able to receive only 400 thousand kW in total because of its grid capacity.

When the panels fully charge the battery after eight hours of sunshine, the machine will be able to print on 15 thousand to 20 thousand sheets of paper.

Screen printing machine consumes much less electricity than photocopying machine, because it doesn't have heat processing. The company had an eye to the merit.
