Sheeps Remove Weeds in Nikke's 16.8 MW Solar in Inami, Hyogo


The spin wool firm Nikke (Nippon Keori) has put three sheeps to pasture at its 16.8 MW solar station in Inami town of Hyogo prefecure.

Because of a land regulation by the city, the company couldn't level the land for the solar facility.

NEDO Started Solar & EV Project in Lyon, France


NEDO started a commercial service of 30 EV (electric vehicle) in Lyon, France.
The project uses 15 i-MiEVs of Mitsubishi Motors and 15 PSA Puegeot Citroens.

Also it will demonstrate the so-called "CHAdeMO" quick charging battery system, which Japan is proposing as an international standard of charging system.

The energy management system of the project was developed by Toshiba.

Saga Prefecture to Invite Enterprise for Solar Project along Prefectural Road


Saga prefecture announced on 15th that it would invite entrepreneurs for its solar project alongside of a prefecturel road.

The government will lease for free a south-facing land of the road, which stretches 2 kilometers from around the Kubota Interchange. The land has 10,000 square meters. And it is estimated that a solar station of 1 MW scale can be built on the area.

Solar Panel for Okinawan Climate by Kingdom Solar Japan


Kingdom Solar Japan in Naha city of Okinawa prefecture recently developed a solar panel specialized for the humid and high temperature climate of the island.

The photovoltaic panel made in China utilizes special back sheet and thicker aluminium cover and is also strong against typhoon and salt damage.
