ESCO Business Started at Dam in Yaita, Tochigi


Tochigi prefecture started an ESCO (Energy Service COmpany) business with NK Dam ESCO Tochigi, a subsidiary company of Nippon Koei.
The two concluded an 18-year contract of business entrust.

NK Dam will install a hydro generator of 190 kW output at Terayama Dam in Yaita city.
The electricity to be generated will be sold to Tokyo Electric Power.

Also, the company is going to propel energy conservation of the dam, by changing lighting and air conditioners to energy-saving types.
Tochigi prefecture expects to cut electricity charge by 3 million JPY a year.
