Washtub-Shaped Pico Hydro Test in Nagano
A field test of a washtub-shaped micro hydro turbine has started in Chino city of Nagano prefecture.
With a water flow of 50 liters per second, it can generate electricity of about 100 W.
A whirlpool of water in the washtub rotates the turbine blades. With the video clip by NHK (below) it is easier to understand.
The test will last for three months.
