Solar on the Roof to Keep Truck Cabin Cool

The manufacturer of transport equipment Nippon Fruehauf started selling "iCool Solar," a car-battery assisting system using solar panels on the rooftop of a truck.

The new product consists of the solar module system "The Solar" by Mitsubishi Chemical and the driving-cab air conditioner  "i-Cool"by ICL.

While stopping for loading and unloading as well as for a rest, on a hot mid-summer day for example, the truck driver can stop engine for a longer time. That will contribute to reduce CO2 emission, the company says.
