IHI Enviro's Small Co-generation Utilizing Biogas from Food Sewage

IHI Enviro in Tokyo recently developed a small-scale co-generation system which utilizes biogas from organic sewage from food factory etc.

The sewage is processed in the "IC reactor," or internal circulation reactor.
The company is conducting a field test in Oita prefecture.

According to the company, the operation cost of the new facility is one twentieth of that of conventional activated sludge process. And the installation area will be one hundredth.
